Good Morning Panera!

I have found myself making the default drive to Panera a lot more recently. Here are my top 5 reasons why:

1) free Wifi
2) close enough to the office to call it my 2nd office
3) I get to people watch
4) food and drinks are available (with $$)
5) I run into friends all the time

Behind the Scenes: Do Not Enter

Since these was no one in the room I figured the "Do Not Enter" sign applied to me. So here is a behind the scenes look at the tracking room. Lots of big and small electronics that all look really expensive, plus like 4 macs! My kind of room.

Behind The Scenes: Amp Box

I am backstage giving you a sneak peek of what it looks like to be a musician on stage during the Night of Worship.

I found an interesting piece on stage; a homemade amp box. The guitar player's amp sits inside of it and closes out the stage volume but allows them to crank it loud. Genius. Thanks to Keith Prescott, Rhythm Guitarist, for that beautiful build.

Behind The Scenes: Mic Cable

So, with The Ark's Night or Worship & Live Recording happening this Wednesday, Sept 27th at 7pm I thought I would give everyone sneak peak into the "Behind the Scenes" action. I am going to try to document the process and post some photos and videos up to the world-wide-web for everyone to see.

I already posted a photo of the Tracking Room earlier. Here is what has to be ran to get a simple mic to make noise and track for the CD. Watch along with me.

Do I have a problem?

so I came to the realization this weekend that though I may not want to admit it, I need a shoe rack. I have too many pairs of shoes to fit on one shelf stacked 3 high; falling anytime a I grab a pair. So tomorrow I will head to Target and make the purchase I feel has been a long time coming.

I choose not to discard any of these shoes because I still like to wear them all and I hate wasting anything.

Loving through deed and truth

1 John 3:16-18
"16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.17 But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth."

Many of us today are thinking about this day 8 years ago. Maybe where we were, how we felt, what we did or how much television we watched. But everyone thinks about the men and women who's lives were taken and those who laid them down freely. Let this be a day we remember them and their families for the willingness to lay down their lives for their brothers and sisters.

Thank you Jesus for choosing to lay down your life to save the souls of all men and women. Help me to open my heart more to those in need and live out your love to others through deed and truth.

He is Faithful

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (ESV)

Today I was reminded that as much as I am thanking the Lord for all that he provides for me and my family I need to ask for forgiveness. Sometimes it might be for what I have done knowingly and that I have done to others without even knowing. I love that line "he is FAITHFUL" so I know that IF I ask He is faithful to forgive. Praise God. I could not imagine if that read "he is pretty consistent" or "he is known to" to forgive.

It reminds me of when I was having to go to court of Tuesday for a seat belt ticket I received back in January. When I was calling the court office about my options they told me that I could flat out pay it, defensive driving or deferred adjudication. I missed the deadline for defensive driving by one day so I went with deferred adjudication. The clerk told me that the judge "typically" allows that option but there is a chance she won't. This freaked me out, I didn't want to "possibly" get it, I wanted it to be definite.
But I had to go with a "maybe" and waited for like 3 months for my court date. Then my court date cam and I went, sat, waited and then I heard my name called by the officer. I approached the bench of the judge and she, with a big smile, asked how I pleaded. I replied with a slight hesitation, "No Contest." She then said, "Granted." This day I got the "Faithful" judge.

But God is always faithful. What a blessing that we can rely of his promise to never give us a maybe, possibly or typically when asking for forgiveness. We get an "always"!

Remember today to ask forgiveness, because our God is faithful to forgive!

Amazing clouds/setting sun in the sky

As we were driving in The Woodlands we saw these amazing clouds with the sun setting behind it. There was a distinct glow outline. The photo does not do it justice. Love God's artwork in the sky!
